There was a little horse by the river.
It laid down and thought , “I am young and I sit by the river all day”
“I used to go for jolly rides with my master but I hurt my foot and now I have to sit by the river and watch the waves rise and fall.”
“I have come here to watch the sunrise and sunset everyday, I don’t know why I love it but I remember grandpa told me that it portrayed the glory of our “Ultimate Master” who had his palace way above the earth.”
“Hello son” a voice from behind distracted him. “Grandpa!” he exclaimed and celebrated his grandpa. “Will I ever be fine?” he asked while looking at his wound.
“Ooh yes, you will” Grandpa answered.
“I have lived long now, and I don’t have the same vigor as I had long ago. But I can tell you who I am.”
“I have the strength in veins to walk through the valley of death and its shadows and not be afraid. I have been clothed with thunder and I clash arms while rejoicing in my strength.”
The little horse lighted up his face as his grandfather spoke to him.
“All my life I have walked in the battlefield, and was never shaken by the sound of other chariots. I was never scared of a sword but rather I laughed at fear. I heard the rattles and swishing sounds of spears and javelins but I never trembled. I moved with fierceness and the rage to conquer that I was given by my master. I was never scared to walk through fire because I moved with majesty and faster than the fire could catch up. I crossed strong and raging rivers and was never disturbed.”
“I had my peace firm like the firmaments of the earth.”
“When the trumpets of war were sounded, I went forth to lead the battle, I didn’t halt when I saw multitude of soldiers and other horses lining up. I carried vigor at the tip of my feet, a shield of majesty and authority on my knees, and I wore a breastplate of victory. I never shuddered at the idea of arrows piercing my skin. Because I knew that, The master gave me a skin so deep that you’ll have to be stronger than he and hit so hard to go through.”
“But there was something that scared me, our masters called them locusts. I don’t know why, but they are tiny creatures and weak, you could just step on them without even noticing anything. One thing they do is they move in unity. You see, they are small individually but together they can bring down an army of horses.
They have their strength in numbers.”
“This little wound is a single locust, you can just trample it and it will go away. You are strong and mighty, because you are of my blood, part of my flesh, and my spirit reigns in you. You have battlefields to go into and trumpets to hear, you have to let your thunder roar. And when you see this sunset know that the Spirit of our Ultimate Master rests in you. And in the morning during sunrise it rises with you. “
We are strong beings. We were created in authority and majesty. We were given ferocity. And the sound of war never troubles us. It is who we are. It is who you are. Because it is God who dictated your creation.
