At the garden of Gethsemane
Where He knelt down to pray
My soul is sorrowful
This load I’m about to carry is wearing me down
These people that I love, they torment my soul
The tears in my eyes are filled with blood
Yet they don’t see it
On these grounds I plead with my God
To let this cup pass me
To let this pain go past me
I remember the meeting held in the palace
I remembered when my Father stood up
He asked for a savior, to save His people
I remember standing up boldly, saying that I’ll go.
My Father, in His mighty wisdom agreed
He said that He’ll make Me the Ultimate Sacrifice
And then He sent me down.
Now here I am
I feel like running away
My heart is in despair
And my agony is so severe.
I reminisce of the good shepherd I have been
I taught my sheep well,
I led them well,
I showed them what is right,
And I told them to give back to the world
The Hope I had given to them.
Then, I realized that it was not enough
I had to give them power,
The courage to move mountains,
Something to stand for,
A rock to build from,
A testimony to live for,
And rekindle their hope to see the light again.
I lifted up my head to the Heavens
Let your will be done Father.
I cried so hard, then resolved in my soul.
For the love I have for my sheep, I’ll take this cup according to your will.
At the garden where He shed blood filled tears
He magnified His love
He decided to give you and I a testimony
A testimony of Life through His resurrection
And this is why I’ll always remember that prayer.
The prayer that He made at a place called Gethsemáne.
